Position Summary:

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for creating and implementing social media campaigns to generate further brand engagement and attract targeted external audiences. The ideal leader will ensure that all social media campaigns will align with all business users across the company.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop tools/metrics to track customer engagement through social media and sentiment across all social platforms.
  • Develop strategies to translate social interactions to increased awareness, customer perceptions and ultimately sales.
  • Develop and execute a plan for paid advertising through social outlets with a measurable ROI.
  • Determine the strategic direction and oversee operations of any/all Social Media initiatives.
  • Accountable to integrate and support all other relevant divisions of the company as their divisions are impacted by social media.
  • Lead the development of organization-wide social media standards, policies and rules of engagement for social media.
  • Develop annual marketing plans and digital marketing budget.
  • Ensure cross functional communications are timely and accurate.
  • Keep up with industry trends, identifying growth opportunities and potential partners.
  • Understand available tools and resources, as well as ensuring internal partners have access to and familiarity with tools that would assist them as well.
  • Ensure that a consistent brand voice is used, across digital media, and measure our effectiveness accordingly.
  • Lead cross-company projects, continually seeking new points of innovation while disseminating knowledge of social media industry, process, best practices and capabilities.
  • Maintain a high profile within the social media industry via key alliances with leading social media experts and events.
  • Develop success metrics for our efforts in digital media and measure our effectiveness accordingly.

 

 

Position Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field and 5-7 years of experience leading national social media initiative within an organization is preferred.
  • Able to manage heavy workloads with flexibility to rapidly shift priorities based on organizational needs.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of social media and networking platforms, and a strong understanding of new media consumer behaviors and trends.
  • Able to interpret data and research reports to optimize strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work as a member of a team, as well as lead the team.
  • Experience with online monitoring and measurement platforms including but not limited to Omniture, Google and Adobe Social.
  • Have a solid understanding of ethical search engine optimization techniques.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience developing and launching email and text messaging campaigns preferred.
